The Employee Retention Credit (ERC) is a new tax credit authorized by the CARES Act that provides a tax credit to employers who were affected by COVID-19. The ERC tax credit is a relief measure for companies that kept workers on their payroll by providing them with a refundable tax credit. The ERC legislation was expanded under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, which became effective on January 1, 2021.
This expansion means that all businesses that took a PPP loan(s) are now eligible for the ERC for 2020 and 2021. As a result, nearly all businesses may be eligible to receive an ERC credit of up to $26,000 per employee. To qualify for free, click or
